'Fragility'
Series of ceramic sculptures
2016
An abstract representation of the vulnerability, mental wellbeing and support of children.

My concern throughout this collection was how children can be ostracised by society, and not recognising when actions are negative or abusive. I researched the natural adaptions children undergo to protect themselves from harm; aggression, isolation, wariness, an inability to communicate.

Using porcelain to signify the fragility of children's minds, while the threads represent the more impressionable and innocent side of children and how they overall need a balance of nurturing, protection and freedom.
